Buying in bulk is a great way to save money on items you use often. Stocking up on non-perishable goods when you can will help you avoid paying a premium for your groceries. You need to look at the price per unit and buy at the lowest price possible. I normally stay away from perishable goods in bulk unless you are planning to use them right away, within a few days normally or freeze them. I purchased tomatoes at our local farmers market at over 75 % off the normal price because they had a few flaws. Once I arrived home, I processed them and put them in bags in the freezer, that way they are available when I need them and I purchased them at a great price. Stay away from items you have not used before, go with the items you know you will use, like toilet paper, cleaning products, dry goods, pasta and canned items to name a few.
